God give us:

1. Natural light (natural reason);

2. Supernatural light.

Human nature = the rational animal. What is being a human? What is being a rational animal? The question is: what is a man and what is the difference between a man and the rest of creation?

Man is both: rational and spiritual. Rationality is a strong philosophical question. We have some philosophers who talked about it:

- Socrates;

- Plato;

- Aristotle;

- St. Thomas Aquinas.

What is rationality? Rationality is: the activity that is most characteristic of this kind (rational animal/human).

What can humans do?

- Taking care of things;

- Ruling;

- Rationality is a way of having reality too.

The human soul can become all things. Rationality is a means of possessing things, but it is also a means of becoming all things. This is a fundamental difference: we can transcend, in a sense, the limitation of the body to being other things.

We have the second light, the supernatural light, the theology. Because of it, we can understand God's plan and the integration of natural reason and supernatural reason.
