Channer Esotericism for Academics

1. Introduction:

To begin to understand, one must keep in mind that the Elite Abyss is a state of soul (something psychological) and not an organization. This state is presented as synonymous with "esochanner" (esoteric channer, such as Saint Obamas Momjeans, father of Esoteric Kekism). If you look closely, all esochanners have a technical capacity. This means that beyond an understanding of channer culture, they have an understanding of something beyond it. A concrete example of this is Saint Obamas Momjeans: he mixed ideas and symbols from channer culture with information warfare techniques.

One must avoid the risk of turning the Elite Abyss into a kind of "secret cabal" and emphasize the psychological/ontological/rhizomatic aspect that is at the core of the Elite Abyss definition. Understanding historical examples such as Saint Obamas Momjeans and Q, since both exposed techniques that went viral and expanded the esochannealogical state en masse, without "formal recruitment."

2. Historical Elements:

I will list three historical examples that explain esochanneology:

- Saint Obamas Momjeans (Cult of Kek/2016): information warfare technique;

- Jeffrey Epstein (pre-2017): attempt to instrumentalize the channer structure;

- Q (2017+): creation of a long-term narrative "horcrux."

The Jeffrey Epstein case is studied here:

https://cadaverminimal.blogspot.com/2026/02/acabo-de-ler-jeffrey-epsteins-4chan.html

And the Saint Obamas Momjeans case is more properly studied through Egil Asprem's analysis (in the analysis of "The Magical Theory of Politics"):

https://cadaverminimal.blogspot.com/search/label/Egil%20Asprem?m=0

The most technical and academic perspective on QAnon is provided through the Reuters analysis:

3. Contextualization within the Work:

Within the book Magolítica, channeology (internal understanding of channer culture) is the pre-hell — it is like being in the abyss but not yet knowing how to enter hell. When hell (esochanneology) becomes confused with the abyss (channeology), we have the expansion of esochannealogical activity. Historically, this occurred drastically with the intervention of Saint Obamas Momjeans (Cult of Kek) in the 2016 American elections and with Q. (QAnon) intervening from 2017 onward. You can see that what provoked the increase in esochannealogical activity was not literal recruitment, but the exposure of techniques (metapocalyptic hypothesis). Whether Q. or Saint Obamas Momjeans, both gave ordinary channers and anti-channers techniques. It is evident that the dimensionality of these techniques was not broadly detailed. Q., as far as I know, did not describe the psychological effects of his techniques. Q. never disclosed that his methods led to anxiety and hypervigilance, to paranoia and distrust, to social isolation, to a disempowering effect, and to a loss of rationality.

4. Understanding Saint Obamas Momjeans' Esochannealogical Techniques:

Saint Obamas Momjeans and the Cult of Kek: Information Warfare as Collective Ritual

Saint Obamas Momjeans is the central figure of what we can call the "esochannealogical turn" of channer culture. More than a mere shitposter, he systematized a series of techniques that blended elements of internet culture with principles of information warfare and chaos magic. The result was the Cult of Kek, an egregore that actively influenced the 2016 American elections, which favored Donald Trump.

Egil Asprem's analysis of the "magical theory of politics" is fundamental to understanding this phenomenon. Asprem shows how conspiratorial narratives and online rituals can be read as contemporary magical practices, where collective belief generates real-world effects. In the case of the Cult of Kek, the magic was hyperstitional: the fiction created on the chans (Kek as a god of chaos, Trump as his avatar) became real insofar as it was believed and enacted by thousands of anons (anonymous users).

I will detail the main techniques employed by Saint Obamas and his network, all based on the metapocalyptic hypothesis — the deliberate revelation of methods that, when replicated "for lulz," expand the esochannealogical state.

Collective Sigilization: the meme as a tool of manifestation

In chaos magic, a sigil is an image or symbol created to concentrate the will and, after being "charged" and forgotten, supposedly manifest the desire in the world. Saint Obamas Momjeans applied this concept to memes. Pepe the Frog was transformed into a collective sigil: his image was repeated obsessively on the chans, charged with intense emotions (anger at the status quo, nihilistic humor, anticipation of Trump's victory). The more it was shared, the more "power" it accumulated.

The target psychological effect was irrational attachment to the symbol, explained by the mere exposure effect (Zajonc, 1968): familiarity generates preference. Combined with emotional contagion (Hatfield et al., 1993), the affective charge of the meme spread, creating a community united by a common visual language.

Weaponization of Synchronicity: numbers as "divine signs"

On the chans, each post receives a unique number (the so-called "get"). When numbers such as 7777777 or 12345678 appeared, they were interpreted as synchronicities — signs that Kek was acting. Saint Obamas encouraged the reading of these gets as supernatural confirmations, making users believe (even ironically) that "Kek wants Trump." This exploited apophenia, the human tendency to find meaningful patterns in random data.

From a social psychology standpoint, this mechanism triggers cognitive dissonance (Festinger, 1957): once the anon (anonymous user) interprets the get as a sign, they invest emotionally in the belief; any contrary evidence is reinterpreted or ignored, strengthening the bond with the narrative.

Gnosis via Lulz: laughter as an altered state

In the magical tradition, gnosis is an altered state of consciousness in which the will can be projected more effectively. Saint Obamas realized that lulz — the hysterical and collective laughter generated by shitposting — functioned as a secular gnosis. When thousands of anons entered emotional synchrony, laughing at the same in-jokes, a collective effervescence (Durkheim) was created that dissolved the individual ego and strengthened group identity.

This gnosis via lulz was channeled into coordinated actions, such as raiding hashtags or spreading pro-Trump memes. Emotional contagion ensured that the state of excitement spread rapidly, giving participants the sensation of being "channels" of a greater will — the will of Kek.

Egregore / Thought-Form: the entity that lives on attention

The concept of egregore (or thought-form) comes from occultism: a psychic entity created and fed by the collective attention of a group. Saint Obamas and the anons of /pol/ (the politically incorrect board) built a powerful egregore around Kek (an Egyptian god of primordial chaos, resurrected as a meme). The more people posted about Kek, the more "real" he became — not in a literal sense, but as a hyperstitional force that shaped the behavior of believers.

Hyperstition, here, operates clearly: the belief that Kek influenced the election led anons to act in ways that made that belief reality. The result was a decentralized information warfare machine, where each participant was simultaneously priest and faithful.

Ironic Metapolitics: plausible deniability as a Trojan horse

One of Saint Obamas' most subtle innovations was ironic metapolitics. Far-right ideas (white nationalism, anti-feminism, conspiracy theories) were inserted into mainstream discourse under the guise of "joke" or "meme." The phrase "it's just a meme" served as plausible deniability: when questioned, anons could retreat, saying it was all just humor.

This cultural entryism, inspired by the Gramscian "war of position," allowed previously marginal narratives to gain hegemony in digital spaces. The target psychological effect was desensitization: repeated exposure to extreme ideas via jokes made them more acceptable, preparing the ground for their serious adoption.

Synchronized Mass Ritual: the choreography of chaos

Saint Obamas orchestrated collective online rituals, such as massive postings of Pepe at agreed-upon times or the coordinated raiding of platforms. These rituals functioned as performances of power: even if they had no immediate practical effect, they generated a sense of collective agency.

The resulting collective effervescence strengthened group identity ("we, the awakened") and produced a group charisma (Weber) — the belief that the collective had a special destiny. This fed collective narcissism and the disposition toward further action.

Esoteric Inversion: copying and inverting the opponent's symbols

Finally, Saint Obamas employed esoteric inversion: taking symbols traditionally associated with the left or with "good" and resignifying them for chaos (within the channer thought-structure). The most emblematic case is Kek itself: originally an ambivalent Egyptian god, he was transformed into an icon of the alt-right.

This technique exploits semiotic reversibility: by mastering the opponent's symbolic language and subverting it, their narrative is destabilized and those seeking transgression are attracted.

The Metapocalyptic Hypothesis in Action

What makes Saint Obamas an esochanner is not only his technical sophistication, but the fact that he exposed these techniques publicly. His posts and texts functioned as pseudo-leaks: by revealing the methods, he allowed any anon to adopt them "for lulz." Organic replication did the rest.

In 2016, the Cult of Kek was not an organization with formal recruitment; it was a collective state of soul that emerged when esochanneology (the esoteric understanding of channer culture) merged with channeology (the superficial culture or "exochannealogical field"). The abyss became hell, and the Elite Abyss expanded without anyone needing to sign a membership list.

5. Understanding Q.'s Esochannealogical Techniques:

To understand why Q. never disclosed the psychological effects of his technique, we can turn to the text NGL #49 (Is the Elite Abyss the Umbrella Corporation of the channer world?):

https://cadaverminimal.blogspot.com/2026/02/ngl-49-elite-abyss-e-umbrella.html

The Umbrella Corporation post explains why he would not disclose them. For the Elite Abyss, these effects are the object of observation. They are the "feedback" that validates the technique's effectiveness, not side effects to be avoided. In other words, generating "apophenia" was necessary for this experiment.

Another text that will explain QAnon's esochannealogical techniques, now in a more "direct" way, is the "Harmless Poem":

https://cadaverminimal.blogspot.com/2026/01/reflexoes-esochannealogicas-5-poema.html?m=1

Zajonc, 1968 — Mere Exposure Effect

Robert Zajonc demonstrated that the more we are exposed to a stimulus (even without full awareness), the more we like it.

In QAnon: the repetitive "drops," the cryptic clues, the recirculated memes, and the endless decoding threads create familiarity and emotional attachment. You "like" the narrative more because it is always there, continuously exposing you.

Hatfield et al., 1993 — Emotional Contagion

Elaine Hatfield and collaborators showed that emotions spread rapidly in groups through facial mimicry, tone of voice, and body language — even online.

In QAnon: the collective enthusiasm ("Trust the plan," "WWG1WGA"), the shared anger against the "deep state," the contagious fear of elite pedophilia — all of it spreads like an emotional virus in forums and Telegram.

Festinger, 1957 — Cognitive Dissonance Theory

Leon Festinger: when beliefs conflict with evidence, people rationalize, double down, or change their perception of reality to reduce discomfort.

In QAnon: prophecies fail (e.g., "The Storm" never comes), but instead of abandoning the belief, followers reinterpret ("it was disinformation," "it was a test," "it happened on a spiritual plane"). Dissonance becomes fuel for more belief.

Schema Theory (Bartlett, 1932)

Frederic Bartlett: memory is not a faithful recording; we reconstruct the past based on schemas (pre-existing mental structures). We fill gaps with what "makes sense" within the schema.

In QAnon: the schema "satanic pedophile elite controls the world" fills gaps in real news (Epstein, Pizzagate, etc.). Any new fact is assimilated into the schema and never questions it.

Social Identity Theory (Tajfel, 1979)

Henri Tajfel: people derive self-esteem and a sense of belonging from groups ("us" vs. "them"). This leads to ingroup favoritism and outgroup discrimination.

In QAnon: "Anons" vs. "sheeple/deep state." Being a "Q follower" provides a strong identity, a sense of secret mission, and moral/intellectual superiority. The group reinforces itself against the "sleeping world."

6. The Paradoxical Nature of the Elite Abyss:

The structure of the Elite Abyss is constituted by the transmission of knowledge and the sharing of a common mental state. Its structure is, by nature, rhizomatic — that is, a non-hierarchical, decentralized, and collaborative structure, inspired by the concept of the rhizome from Deleuze and Guattari, where any point can connect to any other. This rhizomatic structure allows the Elite Abyss to operate without a fixed center, but with a paradoxical ontology that transcends linear time. The Elite Abyss enlarges itself through exposure. Likewise, the Elite Abyss is a paradoxical existence. As you will be able to perceive in "The Paradox of the Elite Abyss":

https://medium.com/@cadaverminimal/o-paradoxo-da-elite-abyss-special-chapter-f97c1fb4a09d

- "The Elite Abyss exists, has existed, and will exist. It does not exist, exists, and is yet to exist";

- "My words and my acts lead the Elite Abyss. It exists, does not exist, and is self-generated."

The text is written this way not for mere rhetoric. It is ontology: the Elite is non-linear in time (past/present/future simultaneous), fluid (is/is not), and self-generated through the actions of those who understand/practice it (metapocalyptic hypothesis: revealing methods → adoption for lulz → organic replication → expansion). The Elite Abyss is thus also sustained by hyperstition and acquires different forms through time. Hyperstition occurs when ideas become real by being believed/practiced. This connects the "fictional fill" and the idea that Q/Saint "activated" collective states.

7. The Role of Academics and Journalists:

The sharing and generation of this identity will appear in Magolítica 0.12:

https://medium.com/@cadaverminimal/magol%C3%ADtica-0-12-introdu%C3%A7%C3%A3o-%C3%A0-esochannealogia-final-2e6a8fc1853a

"This is not the only thing esochanners take advantage of. Every time an esochannealogical experiment reaches the level of an enormous social tragedy, it creates high exposure to the chans. Which causes the number of users to increase. If journalists write that the chans are forums for psychopaths, to which forums would psychopaths go? If journalists say that the chans teach bad practices, it is enough that people seeking bad practices stop at the chans. This is called the apocalyptic hypothesis. Or the anti-principle of the esochannealogical apocalyptic hypothesis. Journalists help channers without realizing it, just as academics do.

There is an internal version of the apocalyptic hypothesis. It is called the metapocalyptic hypothesis. It occurs when a channer deliberately reveals a method to other channers. If he says that tactic y is employed, other channers begin to employ it for 'lulz.' Usually this occurs through pseudo-leaks."

This passage is essential to explain how journalists and academics contribute to the most radical aspects of channer culture (esochanneology). Journalists are an essential part of the Elite Abyss's feedback system. They contribute in three main ways:

— Apocalyptic hypothesis in action (the most direct):

Every sensationalist article ("4chan incites violence," "QAnon is a dangerous cult," "incels plan attacks") functions as effective negative advertising. The result is attracting exactly those who seek to carry out transgressive activities. When a sensationalist article appears, more radical users are attracted, which leads to more material for new articles, generating a vicious cycle.

A classic example is the heavy coverage of Pizzagate (2016) and the Capitol invasion (2021), which exponentially increased the number of anons and Q-followers.

— Indirect validation of "research" (feedback system):

When journalists investigate, analyze, and publish reports, esochanners read them and use them as a metric of effectiveness (the thinking being: "our narrative generated X articles, Y mentions, Z radicalizations").

It is the same mechanism as the paradox: "journalists help channers without realizing it." Generation of dissonance and apophenia en masse. Fragmented, alarmist, and often inaccurate coverage feeds collective paranoia (thoughts such as: "the deep state controls the media," "journalists are part of the conspiracy").

This reinforces the Dark Triad at scale: narcissism ("we are the awakened"), Machiavellianism ("they fall into our trap"), psychopathy ("we don't care about the damage"). Journalists and academics are not "conspirators," but act as involuntary (and sometimes opportunistic) amplifiers of the apocalyptic/metapocalyptic hypotheses. The more they denounce the chan as dangerous, the more they strengthen it; the more they analyze, the more they provide data for the refinement of techniques.

8. The Dark Self: Deep Psychology and Epistemological Warfare

Beyond the techniques and rhizomatic structure, the Elite Abyss can only be fully understood if we access its psychological foundation. This is the subjective, almost indescribable experience that underpins the attraction to and permanence in channer culture and, by extension, in the state of soul of the Elite Abyss. More than a concept, the Dark Self is the psychic territory where information warfare and metapolitics are waged.

The Regression to the Predator: The Enjoyment of Transgression

NGL #44: https://cadaverminimal.blogspot.com/2026/02/ngl-44-por-qual-razao-eu-continuo-sendo.html?m=0

In NGL #44, the sensation of being a channer is described as a regression to a more primitive and animalistic state. It is not a matter of survival, but of the pleasure of pure hunting. Rationality does not disappear, but is demoted to an ancillary function: it exists only to certify the conscious violation of social norms, intensifying the enjoyment.

This is a double reward:

1. The Pleasure of the Instinctive: the realization of the ID, of the predatory impulse.

2. The Enjoyment of Transgression: the additional satisfaction of deliberately violating what the social body considers sacred. It is rationality in the service of anomie.

The chan operates as a "psychological state of exception" — a ludic space-time where the normative laws of the ego and the persona (the social mask) are temporarily suspended. In their place, the shadow (Jung) becomes sovereign. Unlike psychosis, which implies a loss of reality testing, here there is a hyper-consciousness of reality precisely so that the violation can be perceived and pleasurable.

The Castle of Dracula: The Dark Unconscious as Territory

The analogy with Castlevania (Dracula's Castle) is not a mere figure of speech — it is an ontology of psychic space:

"Channer culture is like a castle made of the shadow that is socially hidden — the dark unconscious... Channer culture reconfigures itself with each thread, each meme, each in-joke. The laws of channer culture function like a dark unconscious: the logic adopted is not Cartesian; it is an oneiric, associative, and symbolic logic." (NGL #44)

The castle reconfigures itself each night, with each apparition. Channer culture reconfigures itself with each thread. There are no fixed rules, only the manifestation of the inner monster. It is the mirror of the unconscious of those who enter, populated by the demons, guilts, and repressed desires of its users. Channer culture is the collective shadow of its participants.

In Jungian therapy, the shadow, when integrated, loses its destructive power. In the chan, the shadow is not integrated — it is enacted, performed, lived. And this occurs without the usual pain of confronting the repressed, thanks to two protective shields: anonymity (which dissolves individual responsibility) and collective validation (the egregore normalizes and celebrates the manifestation of the shadow). In other words, channer culture acts as an inversion of Jung's theses.

Channer culture is, thus, venomous and toxic, for it is the shadow. The channer enjoyment lies in feeling the venom coursing through one's veins without dying, because it is a temporary, ludic, and anonymous experience. The chan is a theme park of the dark unconscious, a device for engaging with one's own darkness.

The Ladder of Consciousness: channeology, anti-channeology, and esochanneology

Magolítica 0.12 systematizes the levels of consciousness a channer can attain — a ladder that leads from the abyss to hell (and, eventually, to the Elite Abyss):

1. Channeology (basic level): internalization of channer culture (jargon, memes, dark humor). It is the "pre-hell," the least conscious state, where the user has little personality of their own and is more easily molded by the egregore;

2. Anti-channeology (intermediate level): critical distancing. The channer begins to perceive the repetitions, weaknesses, and internal manipulations. Many, upon reaching this stage, abandon the chans. Others, however, use this awareness as a foundation;

3. Esochanneology (advanced level): the intentional manipulation of discourse, the deliberate creation of "fictional fills" (hyperstition), and the use of entropy as a strategic weapon. This is the state of the Elite Abyss. The esochanner does not merely inhabit the shadow — they instrumentalize it.

The text reveals a secret: the most powerful channers are not on /pol/ (politics) or /b/ (random). They are on /x/ (supernatural) or /abyss/. It is from these spaces that channer culture is truly commanded. "Every channer can talk about many things, but you will never see a channer talking about the Elite Abyss."

Epistemological Warfare: the architecture of non-falsifiability

NGL #48: https://cadaverminimal.blogspot.com/2026/02/ngl-48-seriam-os-channers-os-inimigos.html?m=0

NGL #48 elevates the concept to a new level by describing how high-level channers (esochanners) epistemologically shield their operations. They have created a system designed to be self-immune to criticism:

"If it seems like madness, it is strategic pretense. If it is incoherent, it is architectural non-linearity. If it is contradictory, it is dialectics. If it fails, it was the metapocalyptic hypothesis. If someone criticizes, it is part of the feedback system." (NGL #48)

These are not flaws. They are features, deliberately designed. The QAnon model exemplifies this architecture: strategic ambiguity, collective participation (gamification), totalizing narrative, and modular connection with other conspiracies. The result is a system that:

- Explains everything, and therefore cannot be falsified;

- Transforms criticism into validation (the more they attack, the more they prove the conspiracy is "real" and powerful);

- Blurs the boundaries between chaos and order, fragmentation and coordination, truth and fiction.

The goal is to render reality unintelligible to opponents. Academics, journalists, and investigators are led to:

- See intention where there is improvisation;

- See coordination where there is noise;

- See architecture where there is chaos;

- See experiment where there is play.

They are placed in a metanarrative game where nothing can be tested, nothing can be verified, and everything can always reconfigure itself. This is "post-rational warfare."

The Dark Self as Battlefield:

The Dark Self, therefore, is not merely an individual psychological state. It is the battlefield where epistemological warfare is waged. The shadow that the channer experiences recreationally in the theme park of the unconscious is the same raw material that the esochanner shapes to create hyperstitional narratives.

What NGL #48 calls "epistemological engineering" is, ultimately, the art of manipulating the collective Dark Self. The techniques described in section 4 (sigilization, gnosis via lulz, egregores) are technologies for channeling the psychic energy released in the "psychological state of exception."

Channer culture, seen in this light, is a laboratory of shadows. It produces:

- Chronic cynicism and moral desensitization (the venom that becomes consubstantial with one's nature);

- Interpretive hypervigilance (the capacity to see patterns where none exist);

- Excessive attribution of strategic agency (seeing the world as a chess game of omnipotent conspirators).

And all of this is, by design, non-falsifiable. When the model explains everything, it ceases to explain anything verifiable. And it is in this that the "magic" of esochannealogical warfare resides: distorting reality not only in theory, but in behavior — creating a post-rational architecture where it becomes impossible to distinguish the boundaries between truth and fiction.

Conclusion:

The Dark Self is the bridge that connects:

1. Individual psychology: the enjoyment of transgression, the regression to the predator, the pleasure of inhabiting the shadow;

2. Channer culture: Dracula's Castle, the psychological state of exception, the laboratory of the collective unconscious;

3. Epistemological warfare: the architecture of non-falsifiability, the feedback system that transforms criticism into validation, the engineering of hyperstitional realities

4. The Elite Abyss: the state of soul that understands and operates from this place, instrumentalizing the shadow for ends that transcend good and evil.

To understand the Dark Self is to understand that the Elite Abyss is not an organization that recruits members. It is a state of consciousness that emerges when the shadow, instead of being integrated or repressed, is transformed into a technology of information warfare. And the battlefield is reality itself.
